CCEC is committed to bring to China the successful Canadian educational practices and experience especially at elementary/secondary level. To that aim, CCEC has been working closely with the China National Institute For Educational Research in organizing two successful educational conferences.

School Change for the New Millennium:
      International Trends and Best Practices

In November 2000, CCEC co-sponsored the first Canada-China Educational Conference in Beijing:?School Change for the New Millennium: International Trends and Best Practices. Over 200 administrators, educators and educational experts from the two countries presented at the conference.

Participants at the conference included Vice-Minister of Education of China, Vice-Director General Guan Peijun of the Peronnel Department under the Ministry of Education, President Yan Liqin of the China National Institute for Educational Research, Chairman of the Board Ping T. Tan, President Beck Yu Tan of Bond International College, Professor Michael Fulan, Dean of Ontario Institute of Educational Studies, University of Toronto, OIES Adult Education Centre Director Joanne Quinn and principals of York Region District School Board.

During this conference, Bond International College and the China National Institute for Educational Research jointly published the book "Change Forces: Probing the Depths of Education Reform and Change Forces-The Sequel" by Michael Fulan, then Dean of OISE, University of Toronto.

Principals in 21st Century Education¡ª
Challenges and Opportunities

In November 2001, the Second Canada China Educational Conference: Principals in 21st Century Education -- Challenges and Opportunities, was convened in Toronto, Canada. Over 50 educators, researchers, principals and administrators from the two countries participated in the Conference.

Speaking at the conference included Mr. Bill Hogarth, Director of Education of York Region District School Board, Ontario, Mr. Marvin Zuker, Ontario Justice, and Professor Yan Li Qin, Director of National Institute of Educational Studies Of China.
